Sharks vs Islanders Post-Game

Posted by Ann under Hockey

I know it seems like I’m only doing this when they win, and that’s because it’s probably true. That, and I actually have time Saturday nights, meaning that I’m more likely to actually sit down and write something about the game.

But I’m tired after a long day filled with victories and pieces of styrofoam, so here’s my abbreviated recap:

It was a game of milestones:

  • Nabokov’s 500th game (putting him 4th all-time when with a single team)
  • Thornton’s 400th point as a Shark (and 401st)
  • Thornton’s 80th career 3-point game
  • Vesce’s 1st NHL goal

Honestly, if there was a milestone to be set, it would have been set in this game.

Setoguchi and Marleau scored some great goals. Patty with a nifty backhanded goal, and Seto with some fancy stickwork before he roofed it over Biron.

It’s the Islanders, so the Sharks should beat them, but they always seem to play the boys in teal hard.

The first period sucked. But then they scored four unanswered goals in the next two periods, so all was well.

Boyle acted like a goalie again. He’s getting good at that.

Next game on Monday against the Rags. Still haven’t been able to watch an entire game this season – hopefully that changes then.
