Want to know more than that? Okay, not sure why, but okay. I’m a girl, if its not already glaringly obvious by my name and general demeanor. I have two younger brothers, Jack (16) and Doug (14). They are slightly annoying. I also have a dog, Zeus (2), who is absolutely adorable but is annoying in that he eats all my food. Actually, my brothers do that too. Which often leads to me having no food, and them having plenty.
I love sports. Watching them, that is. I once wrote a recap of my brother’s Little League baseball game – no lie. But my passion has to be hockey. Not only does it have the most continuous action out of the four major sports, but it also has the toughest players. And the fights are awesome. And there are quite a few hot guys who are playing (Torrey Mitchell). I live in the wrong CA for that, though – California, not Canada.
My music taste tends to vary from month to month. And while I described myself as a “Top 40″ lover on my housing application for USC (wooo), my true loves are oldies and 80s music. The Beatles, Elvis, Metallica, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi… All are much listened to on my iPod. Hell, I have “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival playing right now! I mean, there is a reason they’re classics. Oh, and I memorized Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” which I figure is an accomplishment worth bragging about. Memorizing Weird Al songs, not so much.
I have been using HTML and CSS since I was 9, and Photoshop (or Photoshop-like programs – Paint Shop Pro 7 in the house!) since I was ten, making it a good 8-9 years of experience in this field. And no matter how much I dislike it now, I gotta give props to Neopets for igniting my passion for web design. Of course, Myspace and Livejournal just continued my love affair, and eventually advanced my abilities so much that I felt comfortable enough with code to build my own site, which you see here.
My interests change from year-to-year; for a while I wanted to be a screenwriter, but now I’m leaning towards the sports journalism end of the spectrum. Even further back, some of my aspirations included web page designer, author, editor (ahh, the 8 year old version of me, weird even then), earthquake scientist, Imagineer, and CEO of Disney (its a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!). Either way, I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. Its a little scary, but also very exciting.
Fools and Sages was created as an outlet for photoshopping, web design, and hockey rants. I currently attend school in Southern California, but do not hesitate to yell "BEAT LA!" As a Sharks fan, I will defend Patrick Marleau to the death. I have stats, and I'm not afraid to use them.
